The two big smartphone giants, known as Apple and Samsung, compete with each other and share the stage of the market. Every year, Samsung releases their newest design on the annual MWC (Mobile World Congress) and Apple unveils the latest descendant of iPhone generation on the Autumn/Spring new product release conference. On February 21, 2016, Samsung has released Samsung Galaxy S7. Half a year later, Apple will complete the job of designing iPhone 7 and show the result. As the main products of the smartphone market in 2016, what can we expect? And how's the fight between them? Here, the comparison of iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7 will uncover the answer.

Body and Display

iPhone 7 vs. Galaxy Display

iPhone 7, the descendant of iPhone generation, is similar to its predecessor in size and resolution. It has two variants. One is of a 4.7 inch screen. The other, iPhone 7 Plus is 5.5 inch. The resolution is 4K. Besides, the phone also comes with 3D touch display.

Here comes Galaxy S7. As one of the best 5 Android phones in Q1, 2016, Samsung Galaxy will impress users with its beautiful design and high resolution display. And the "Always-On" display will make it more attractive.

So how is the combat between iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7? Galaxy S7 has a 5.1 inch Super Amoled foldable display whereas iPhone is equipped with a 4.7in/5.5in 3D display. Is 3D touch better than curved SUPER AMOLED foldable display? It depends. But what I can ensure is that displays of both phones are good to enjoy videos, movies and TV show.

Processor, RAM and Built-in Storage

With A9 processor, iPhone 7 will be more efficient and power than iPhone 6, which runs A8. A9 boosts the performance of iPhone 7. Compared with the last generation, it is 90% faster when it comes to movie streaming, gaming, and so on. Besides, 64 GB starting storage is available though it doesn't support external SD card.

Samsung Galaxy S7 runs on 64bit Exynos processor and an 8 GB RAM, which provides improved performance. The phone allows you to expand the storage memory with an additional microSD card if 32/64/128 GB storage isn't enough for storage your Android files and you do not want to delete any of them.

OS

iOS vs. Android

It is said that iPhone 7 will ship with the newest system, iOS 10. And we all know that iOS 9 is stable. And it has fixed bugs and reduces size. So it guarantees a better experience for iPhone 7 users.

For Samsung Galaxy S7, it pairs with the new Android 6.0, which comes with improved notification features and Android Auto support. The favor between Android M and iOS 9 will determine the winner of the comparison.

Camera

iPhone 7 vs. Galaxy 7: Camera

Camera is also the decisive factor to win the fight between iPhone 7 vs. Galaxy S7. Rumors about iPhone 7 suggest Apple could add dual-camera setup and drop protruding lens to the phone. It will house an improved 12-megapixel dual-lens DSLR camera and a 5-megapixel FaceTime HD camera with Retina Flash.  And the system will allow iPhone 7 to take much more detailed, brighter and clearer pictures, as well as shrinking down the size of the images.

When it comes to Galaxy S7, it is equipped with the best camera, 12 MP back camera and 5MP front camera front camera sensor. So, it may be touch for uses to make their choice. However, iPhone 7 is added with 4K recording in the camera, which makes it a little bit better than Galaxy S7.

Conclusion

So, iPhone 7 or Samsung Galaxy S7? iPhone 7 is minimalist while Samsung Galaxy S7 uses only more complex design. Personally, I prefer A9 processor and iOS 10 because they give smoother and faster performance. For camera, both are excellent but the video recording feature of iPhone 7 seems better. If you need additional storage memory to store your data, Galaxy S7 should be your choice because it offers SD card slot. In a word, make your choice depending on your needs. Money is not an object, isn't?
